Cheryl Crocker|Mission to the World

Cheryl Crocker is a nurse who ministered for over eight years in the Philippines as a medical missionary with an MTW church-planting team. She returned to the U.S. in 2009 and now serves by preparing for and leading medical teams around the world. Cheryl also assists the Medical Department in recruitment of both medical and lay people to take part on these medical teams.

At the invitation of MTW missionaries and national church leaders, Cheryl recruits and prepares teams to assist in foreign church-planting efforts through compassionate care, prayer, and evangelism. As Christ demonstrated His concern for physical as well as spiritual healing in Matt. 9:35-37, MTW medical teams pray to have His eyes of compassion for those who are "harassed and helpless" because they are without the Shepherd.

The need for medical missions is great; MTW cannot fulfill this need without the help of the medical community. Cheryl covets your prayers for herself, the medical teams, and those whom they minister to. She also would appreciate your partnership financially and would love to recruit you to go along with her on one of her teams, or one of the many other medical teams that go out each year.

Chris Nichols|Young Life Military

Chris came on staff with Young Life in 2003 where he became the Area Director for Young Life Thomas County.  Young Life’s mission is to relationally invest in middle and high school kids, love them unconditionally, and to introduce them to the hope found in Christ.  Chris and his wife Ginger served here in Thomasville for ten years, and were members of Christ Community during that time.

In 2013, God shifted Chris’s ministry focus to Young Life Military (Club Beyond), which is designed specifically to reach teens of our American military, both home and overseas.  The Nichols family moved to Alconbury, England, where they spent five years ministering to teens at the Air Force base there.

As a former military brat himself, Chris relates with a lot of the particular struggles that military kids face: moving on average every 2-3 years, dealing with the stress of parents being deployed, constantly adapting to new cultures/surroundings, and living a life of transition.

Chris and his family (Ginger, Eli, Liam, Evangeline, and Asher) now live in Colorado Springs where he serves in the Young Life Military service center as an International Field Director / International Trainer for staff in Europe.   Please pray for him as he invests in those who are directly sharing the gospel with military kids overseas!

John Gordy|Reformed University Fellowship at Valdosta State

Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) is the college ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), but its scope reaches far beyond. Active on 150 campuses, RUF is not a Presbyterian fellowship, but a Christ-centered ministry seeking to reach students for Christ and see spiritual fruit in their lives.

RUF places seminary-trained pastors on campus to minister God's word in one-to-one, small group, and large group settings. It seeks to be an extension, not a replacement for the church. RUF is conscientious to not simply create a 'spiritual bubble' on campus for four years, but to equip students to follow Christ after college in the local church, workplace, home, and community.

John and his wife, Sarah, were both heavily impacted by the ministry of RUF as college students at UGA. The Lord used their time in RUF to bring them to a greater understanding of the gospel and the importance of the local church. Over time, they felt called to minister to college students, much like John was by his own campus minister at UGA. To their surprise, the Lord called them back south in the spring of 2019 to continue the ministry of RUF at Valdosta State.
